For as long as we can remember, one of the best ways to spend Canada Day was to watch the Canada Day Parade. Then down to Canatara to enjoy meeting people you haven’t seen in a long time, have an ethnic treat from all the different booths serving their own national foods and participate in our country’s birthday!

Dear Sarnia...Forty-five years ago... we sat in anticipation at your Railway Station. Seven young women were escorted on board the arriving train for a ten hour trip to Expo '67 in Montreal. Many trips would follow but this one stands out as a special memory... This station was and still is the gateway to exploration, adventure and new friendships for many Sarnians.

Working in Canatara Park for several years was a thrill for me. I took great pride in tending to the gardens at the entrance of the park and I even had my picture in the newspaper for my resourcefulness in finding a way to trim the center of the old angled raised bed at the first turn in the park. Many a “ hello “ would greet me by passersby on bicycles, people walking, and even the occasional car as well. Every resident in the area has passed between the old city limit pillars on their way to creating another great moment in our park.

Surviving many generations, Sarnia’s canon still remains as a quiet landmark of days gone bye. I took this picture on a starry night, the canon my companion as we strained to hear the second concert Bayfest put forth. Another unique moment shared in the park. — with Lou Sprenger.

Dear Sarnia... Meet Grady. He was born on Aug 11th. While looking through photos of Mommy we saw this cool photo with a shreddies box off to the side. Ironically, we were eating breakfast at the same time and thought this would make a great photo.
